Is there any way I can start biking with a partially torn MCL (medial collateral ligament)?

Will P asked:

I slightly tore my MCL (Medial Collatteral Ligament) in my left knee five weeks ago. I bike and racing starts soon and I need to get back to practicing and racing as soon as physically possible. Are there any braces I could use to let me get back t o biking with a slightly torn MCL? any other suggestions or ideas are much appreciated.

take it easy and ramp it up slowly

See your doctor, or a physical therapist.

Yes — Consult the medical experts. My son did last year. He was recovering from surgery to repair his MCL and they encouraged him to cycle. So there is hope — BUT BY ALL MEANS do not take his situation to automatically associate it to yours. Do as we did, and consult your doctor.
